I CORINTHIANS 3:2,3

I have had to feed you with milk and not with solid food because you couldn't digest anything stronger. And even now you still have to be fed on milk.
For you are still only baby Christians, controlled by your own desires, not God's. When you are jealous of one another and divide up into quarreling groups, doesn't that prove you are still babies, wanting your own way? In fact, you are acting like people who don't belong to the Lord at all.

I had to rear you on milk, not on solid food, which indeed you could not have assimilated—nor can you now, for that matter, since you are unspiritual still
So long as jealousy and faction are rife among you, are you not unspiritual?--are you not living lives far from divine?

I gave you a bottle, not solid food. That's all you could take. And you still don't seem to be doing much better,
because you are just as material minded as ever. For when there is jealousy and bickering among you, aren't you behaving like ordinary human beings?

I gave you milk to drink; not food to eat. You were not ready for food. And even yet you are not ready for it.
You still have the spirit of this world in you. You are jealous of each other and you are quarreling. The spirit of this world is still in you and you live like people of this world.
This sounds to me like they are going to be on milk for quite awhile. Milk, it does do the body good! Jealousy and quarreling among you? Not you, say it isn't so, please. Can we be honest here? Is there jealousy among you? Is there quarreling among you? Are you still trying to promote "your ministry" or are you jealous of another who is promoting theirs? "My ministry?" 
"My gifts of the Spirit?" People who think that way are still mere humans and don't really understand the true way of the Lord. Whoops sorry, that just slipped out, didn't hurt anyone's feelings, did I? Jesus came as God and what? Promoted His Ministry? I don't think so! He died! He died! He died! Get it! Do you get it! I wonder what would happen in the Church today if everyone that was promoting their own ministry started promoting the ministry of others. Novel idea isn't it? SERIOUSLY! What is going on is not the move of the Spirit of God; it is the move of the spirit of this world! STOP IT! How? Well glad you asked! It's in the MILK! Imagine us all learning the ABC's at the same time and then when we learned them we taught others, even though we learned to read and write, we still taught others the ABC's. What would happen if all the churches across America would drop their curriculum and pick up the curriculum of Christ? I wonder what would happen if all the Churches went back to the basics of the Christian faith using the same format and pattern? What do you think would happen? We would grow up into Him in all things!We would drop all our head knowledge and sacrifice ourselves for the good of the whole and teach the basic fundamentals of who we are and what we have because what God has done for us IN CHRIST! That is the anchor, that is the rock and that is the revelation the Church needs; this is what Christ will build His Church on, nothing more and nothing less. |
