These are the basic questions of our Christianity, are they not? These are the things that in order for us to be sure and steadfast in the faith we would have to know, right? How can you function in a world where you don't know the answer to these questions? Well, you didn't learn them overnight, and we should all still be learning these, shouldn't we?

Can you see how answering these questions will make you grow? They will give you a sure foundation to work from. They give you all you need to know to operate in the Word of God and the sphere of the spirit.

All you need to know about Christianity is wrapped up in the answer to these six questions. You see, the Bible is chock full of all sorts of information about all sorts of stuff. Will all that information make us grow? No, I don't think so. It might fill our heads with a bunch of knowledge and information, but grow? No. There is a specific system of growth we need to understand and absorb. When you were first born physically, you weren't fed with steak and potatoes were you?

There is a set structure of growth which has been laid out for us. God in is divine intelligence has an order of things which, when entered into, will promote growth and strength. Look around you and see if that is not true. Everything that grows does so in certain stages, certain types of developmental processes are happening around us at all times. Just look at any organic living thing, it is always in some form of development and growth process.

The language of God being alive with His life also, when absorbed, as newborn Christians, starts a process of defined development in and of itself. When we grasp this concept the truth of growth will be readily understood and not so difficult to follow.

The Life of God grows in us; how it grows depends on what we are feeding it. Milk, it does the body good.

Just think of a baby's growth stages because it is pretty similar to our spiritual growth. Everything in that baby's life comes through the development of certain parts. First they learn to crawl, then walk, then run. First they cry, then they scream, then they learn to make sounds, then articulate those sounds, then words, then speech, then sentences, then oh oh, the baby can talk!

Our spiritual growth is much the same way.

We receive the life of God and are put into a system to learn to speak and communicate His Word. Not only to communicate with others, but with Him also. Where does a baby learn its language? Where do we learn our language, or rather should learn our language? God is teaching us always through His Word and the first thing He wants to tell us is who He is. Just like a baby's parents, the first words out of the baby's mouth are usually "momma" or "dada". Right?

Then the next phase is for God to tell us what He has done for us? Who we are? Once we understand who He is, as God, then we should begin to understand who we are as His children. But not being directly taught in any type of set pattern of order, we grow, unknowingly, deformed in most areas of our Christian life.

The 3 essential aspects of Christian growth are:

  1. Who God is
  2. What he has done for us through Jesus Christ
  3. Who we are because of who He is and what He has done

Let me say that again:

The only essential aspect of Christianity is WHO GOD IS, WHAT HE HAS done for us through Jesus Christ and WHO WE ARE because of who He is and what He has done.

As a parent does with their child, they establish its identity, as part of the family. What's the first thing they do when the baby is born, or actually prior to the baby even being born? They name him/her. Right? O.K. that's what happens with us when we are born into the Kingdom of God, God names us. What does He name us? Well, think about it. We will get to that later.
