TRUTH - (Vine's Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words)

  • a. the reality lying at the basis of an appearance; the manifested, veritable essence of a matter
  • b. where "the truth of the Gospel" denotes the "true" teaching of the Gospel, in contrast to perversions of it;
  • c. "the truth of God" is indicative of His faithfulness in the fulfillment of His promises as exhibited in Christ; the word has an absolute force
  • d. "even as truth is in Jesus," gives the correct rendering, the meaning is not merely ethical "truth," but "truth" in all its fullness and scope, as embodied in Him; He was the perfect expression of the truth

That last definition is really the one I like to focus in on, "even as truth is in Jesus". You see, everything else will pass away; He will be left standing as every knee will bow and every tongue confess He is Lord. The laws of gravity, physics, and math etc. will be gone, replaced with a new heaven and a new earth. He will be left standing. All real eternal truth is only that which leads us directly to the heart of God, Jesus Christ.

Truth is that which can only be perceived with the heart prior to experiencing it within the soul. It is unchanging in character and essence.

When all else falls by the wayside, what remains is truth. Truth cannot be supplanted by opinion, belief or any other external force upon it. It is eternal in quality and duration. Truth is the end of the conversation; there are no more questions when truth is revealed. Truth is the absolute. Truth is the "veritable essence of a matter".

Once the truth of a matter is known there is no reason or room for doubt. Truth was always, is always and always will be, whether we believe it or not, see it or not, accept it or not, live and die in it, or not. It is truth and it never changes, truth was established long before we got here and will exist long after we are gone.

The reason and understanding are ineffective in comprehending these truths, because truth is what is real and can only be grasped within the realm of the spirit, the real world. Truth is Jesus Christ and Him Alone. He is the truth and In Him there is no lie.

HE IS THE TRUTH
HE CONTAINS THE TRUTH
HE LIVES IN THE REALITY OF ALL TRUTH.

This is why, once known, truth sets us free. It becomes our anchor in the sea of confusion, our eye in the middle of the hurricane of this life

We are no more tossed about by every external power that would try to thwart us from that truth. We are no longer blown about by every "wind of doctrine" that comes along. We know, as we our known, and nothing pitted against that form of truth knowledge will or can detour us from that path. It is "the truth; the whole truth and nothing but the truth!"
