Truth Of God

Consider the English Language, for a moment. We spend a great part of our time, when first attending school, learning the alphabet, right? Not learning to read, but learning the ABC's. We said them over and over again, wrote them, sung songs, to absorb them into the very fabric of our being; until after a short while they were an essential part of who we are and they still are. Without these we would have a very limited means of communication, wouldn't we? So what is the real importance of our language?

Is it the ability to write great scholarly works or to know the primary structure of the alphabet and its make up so that we are able to communicate the same things to everyone alike?

From learning the fundamentals of the alphabet we learned reading, writing and arithmetic. It served as the structure and basis for virtually all we know and are coming to know, yet in essence, the ABC's are the simplest form of our knowledge base.

This should be true in Christianity

The truths of Christ and His redemptive work would be so embedded into us we would not be moved by any seemingly "new" revelation and we would not be moved by any type of information contrary to what we know In Christ.

Our strength and unity of purpose come from a sure steadfast foundation not troubled by massive amounts of endless data which tries to lead us down a path of soulish, sense knowledge and understanding.

Growth and maturity is in the basic fundamentals of our learning processes, not in the amount of information we possess, but in the vitality of the information we possess.

The quality of the knowledge we have "of" a person is much more valuable than the quantity of information we have "about" the person. We must be sure of the person (internally), and not base our beliefs on information "about" the person, (externally). Knowing "about" Jesus Christ is not the same as actually "knowing" Jesus Christ.

The whole world knows about Jesus Christ. Some have accurate information about Jesus and still do not believe to the changing of their lives, the saving of their souls. Some have inaccurate information and cannot believe because this information is false. Some have believed and know Jesus is living in them, yet continue to walk as those who just have information about Him.

This is what causes divisions in both the world and the Church. We are to know Jesus, not just things about Him. This is how unity in the Church is formed and cemented together. The knowing of Jesus as opposed to knowledge about Him.

EPHESIANS 4:13
(KJV)
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ
(Hayman)
until we all arrive at the oneness in the faith and knowledge of the Divine Son, and reach our perfect standard, our full grown measure of Christ's completeness..
(TCNT)
This work will continue until we all attain to that unity which comes from faith in the Son of God and from a fuller knowledge of Him, and until we reach the perfection of manhood and that degree of development of which the ideal to be found in the Christ is the standard..
(The Living Bible)
until finally we all believe alike about our salvation and about our Savior, God's Son, and all become full-grown in the Lord-- yes, to the point of being filled full with Christ.
(Wuest)
Until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the experimental, full and precise knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature of the fulness of the Christ.
(NCV)
This work must continue until we are all joined together in the same faith and in the same knowledge of the Son of God. We must become like a mature person, growing until we become like Christ and have His perfection
