You see, until Jesus arrived this language of God had been hidden from mankind. Even though God Himself had been instructing Man to listen and to write it down, as man learned and heard it. God chose some of those Prophets, Priests and Kings to write and record what they heard because God knew He was forming, speaking, a language into the world, the earth. Then when that language was complete enough for Him to send Jesus, He sent Him to operate in it, live in it, function through it, by it, and by it alone. That is why man, as mere man, had so much difficulty in fully understanding or comprehending God before Jesus got here, and even when He was here. God was speaking it to man only as man was able to receive it. Given man's fallen condition and separation from God, it was like listening to a foreign language. Jesus came in the "fullness of times", what fullness? What times? God was imparting His Word to the world. When the world was full enough of His Word Jesus came to finish what the Father had started; He came to fulfill the language of God to the world. That language is nothing more then the full, total, comprehensive language of the Father. It is the sum total of His thoughts, His ways, His works, His Life. He and His Word are one and cannot be separated, learn Him, and learn His Word, same difference. After Jesus was crucified and raised from the dead, the language of God was made available to us from within. God gave Jesus the language of Himself first, and then Jesus was, is and has become that living language He Himself is. Ever living to impart this language to us through the avenue of the Spirit. Now, what God had done in Christ had to be told. It was given to those who believed in Christ first to fulfill completely that which was done in Him. You see, Jesus was not sent to save Himself, no, He was sent to save Man, to give Man this new language, this living language of a loving God. This language of sound and of substance. This language which communicates all of God to all we are.
The authors of the New Testament were the men God chose to write the rest of the language down as they saw and heard it from the Spirit of God. We see these guys receiving a direct revelation from Jesus Himself so the complete communication process can take place. God needed them, after The Man, Jesus, had gone through the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension. They were living proof the language had been completed, the language was now fulfilled in Christ and Christ is now in us! They wrote it down as they were instructed to do; they fulfilled the Word, the language of God. Why? So now, we, with Christ in us, can enter into all God has done for us IN His Son. We can now enter into the Promised Land, flowing with Miilk and Honey. COLOSSIANS 1:25-27
(KJV)

26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness
(Phillips)
For I am a minister of the Church by divine commission, a commission granted to me for your benefit and for a special purpose: that I might fully declare God's Word…
(Johnson)
You must remember that I am a special messenger, given the special task of bringing to fulfillment God's intention for you…
(Wood)
God has given me the wondrous privilege of completing the work of His revelation among you to the full
(Wade)
Of that Church I have become a minister, in discharge of the stewardship which God has entrusted to me for your advantage, to give full expression to God's message…
"To give full expression to God's message". That's the importance of the New Testament Epistles; they give us the fullness of the language of God, all He did in Christ. All Jesus was for us, from the cross to the right hand of God, is in the Epistles, the completion of the Word of God to us. So now, once absorbed and assimilated, we can know God as He knows us; He is living right inside us. That still vibration, that sound, that morpheme, that word, those words, that language. That God language which we speak and is spoken to us in our hearts. When we hear, we are changed, when we listen, we hear. When we open our hearts to His Word, His sound, it effects a change; it reverberates inside us and illuminates us with the light of all He Himself is as God. God is a living Spirit, a Life giving Spirit and we find that Life in the Epistles, in the Word, in Christ we find who we are, what we are, where we are. This is the Land of God where the Milk freely flows. The very basics of Chrisitianity determined and defined by these Epistles. |
