Language Of God Bookmark and Share

If our language, or rather our understanding of His language never reaches the same understanding we will always be hampered by ill-conceived, incorrect definitions. This is the one thing that totally hinders the work of God in all we are and all that God has called us to.

Without this adherence to the language of God, without the union of understanding in His Word, the Church will always lack that which is most essential to her accomplishment on earth. You see, God really desires for us to have this sameness of speech and purpose. God really desires for us to be "of one speech" and "of one vocabulary".

1 Corinthians 1:10
(KJV)
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
(Weymouth NT)
…to cultivate a spirit of harmony--all of you--and that there be no divisions among you, but rather a perfect union through your having one mind and one judgment.
(Basic English)
…that you will all say the same thing, and that there may be no divisions among you, so that you may be in complete agreement, in the same mind and in the same opinion.
(Contemporary English)
…I beg you to get along with each other. Don't take sides. Always try to agree in what you think.
(Good News Bible)
…to agree in what you say, so that there will be no divisions among you. Be completely united, with only one thought and one purpose.
(JB Phillips)
…to speak with one voice, and not allow yourselves to be split up into parties. All together you should be achieving a unity in thought and judgment.

Think about this. Here God through Paul is begging us to "be completely united, with only one thought and on purpose". Why is this important? Because, just like in the days of Babel, if we were of this mind there wouldn't be anything we couldn't accomplish on this earth. God knows when there is unity in thought and judgment there is harmony. When there is harmony there are no divisions or disagreements on the things or goals that we are to accomplish. Now, how is this going to happen?

As a Church...

we body of believers need to have a like understanding of certain key words and/or phrases in the Word of God to be in agreement with these definitions and so form a true chain of communication!

Just like the whole earth enjoyed in the days of Babel only on a spiritual level not a human one. Then and only then will we be able to accomplish God's true desire, God"s goals!
