It's like this comic I saw awhile back. There were two guys, Terry and Mark hanging from a tall building, by their fingertips. God was standing on the building's roof. Terry was doing everything he could think of to get up to the roof without falling. Mark was hanging there and looked around saw God and asked Him: "How do I get to the top?" And when Mark asked Terry stopped and listened then started working again before God could answer. Mark asked again: "God, how do I get to the top?" Terry stopped, waited, for a second, then started to work at trying to save himself again. Well Mark who was asking the question was about ready to fall because he couldn't hang on anymore, so he asked again: "God, please Father, how do I get to the top?" Terry, who also was about ready to fall said: "Don't bother Him, He's God and He usually don't answer. Even if He does answer we won't understand it. After all He is God you know. Well, Mark asked one more time: "God, I realize you are God and you love me, so if you would, could you tell me how I might get to where you are on the roof? God looked down at them both saw that Terry was still working at it although ready to drop any second and God said to them both: "LET GO!" Well the first thing Mark did, knowing His Father God, was to let go. Terry reasoning said: "No way, if I let go, I'll fall" God looking back down at him, said: "If you don't let go, you will fall anyway!" You see the Word explains here, in detail, how one does receive of God or becomes aware of the things God has already done for him. Let us take a slow, very slow, stroll through this part here so as to fully grasp the implications of these next verses. In doing so we will set a favorable foundation for reception through the Spirit's communication to us and for the absorption of the rest of this good Word. The Word says it is not through our reason or our mind we receive of the Spirit of God, it is through the spirit, it is "spirit to spirit" communication. God treating all men of equal import has made these things available to all. That is, all who would ask of Him. He withholds nothing of His Son, freely gives us all things, as we ask and keep on asking, knock and keep on knocking. 1 CORINTHIANS 2:10
(KJV)
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
(Way)
Yet to us did God unveil them by the agency of His Spirit. Yes, the spirit can explore all things, even the abysmal depths of God's designs…
(Locke)
But these things, which are not discoverable by man's natural faculties and powers, God hath revealed to us, by his Spirit, which searcheth out all things, even the deep counsels of God…
(Johnson)
While we cannot explore this mystery by our own intellect, God has unveiled it by his Spirit. The Spirit penetrates everything, even the secrets hidden deep in the mind of God…
(Knox)
to, us then, God has made a revelation of it through His spirit; there is no depth in God's nature so deep that the spirit cannot find it out…
(The Message)
God by his Spirit has brought it all out into the open before you. The Spirit, not content to flit around on the surface, dives into the depths of God, and brings out what God planned all along…
"God by his Spirit has brought it all out into the open before you". "Out in the open", where? I don't see it? No, No, stop looking with those physical eyes of yours. Help Wanted, Apply Within! Everything we could want to know and or receive of God has been freely laid open to us in the realm of the Spirit. "In the Promised Land", that is where God is; that is where He will always be and we cannot get there on our own. It is only by, through, and of the Spirit of the living God that we are able to perceive and so receive the things and all the things of God. Each and everyone of us who have been "born of the spirit" have all like receptors when it comes to the knowledge of God. God has revealed them unto us, how? "Spirit to spirit" communication the spirit of God is one big open scenario being played out in the core of our being by the very spirit of God himself. |
