How can we hear him?
How can we hear Him if we spend our time listening to everything else but Him? We are just way too caught up in the distractions of this world! Even in popular Christianity I am ashamed to say these things hold true. We are paying much too much attention to the world around us and nowhere near enough attention to His sound within us. "In The Promised Land", flowing with the Milk and Honey of God, flowing with the Alphabet and the Language of God, flowing with the wisdom and understanding of God. This is God Almighty we are talking about here not some figment of our imagination. We are talking about Him who created the Heavens and the Earth, Him who causes the wind to blow with His breath, the skies to shake with His right Hand, the seas to quiver with the thunder of His voice. WAKE UP! He is well able to supply all we need that pertains to life and Godliness. He is well able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think. He is well able to make Himself known to us in every way He can. Just listen, He's shouting it out now, He's publishing His message everywhere, He's telling us who we are and what we are. He's telling us what Christ has done for us in His Death, Burial, Resurrection and Ascension. He's saying LOOK LOOK LOOK what I have done for you. NO one has ever laid down their life for you have they? Well? Have they? What I'm trying to get at is that it is not up to how we think or what we think. It is up to God and He is literally lavishing us with His Word at all times. He hasn't stopped, we just aren't in the right place to listen and hear. His Word is raining on us day and night, night and day. He wants us to know Him and all of Him. O.K., go ahead and say it. Oh, yeah, but brother, the Bible says: "His ways are not our ways, His thoughts are not our thoughts". Well, thanks for saying it, I really wasn't expecting someone to bring it up this soon, but now that you mention it, let's go there. I'm warning you though, if you haven't seen this whole passage of scripture you are in for a shock. ISAIAH 55:8-11
(KJV)
8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Do I need to say anything here? Let's just take a minute and say these verses out loud to ourselves. Now, once again, from the top. Sounds like "My Words are not your words and My Language is not your language" doesn't it? Well that's what it sounds like to me and I just thought I'd mention that to you. |
