Function Of God Bookmark and Share

By being brought through the one Son, we are able to be partakers of all God had meant for His Son. The only way for us to really understand and comprehend God, The Father, is to have a share in His very own nature and being. Without which, our limited capabilities would not serve His ultimate intention for us, as actual sons.

If we can't comprehend and know God, as God, then what kind of relationship would that be for God? Through Jesus Christ we are able to know God, as God, would have us know Him and all of Him.

In order to truly communicate who He is we had to have the capacity to understand Him as such. That is why He gave us His Son, so we can now know Him, through Christ, as He really is.

You see, in order for God to become our Father, He first needed a Son, right? In order to be a Father you have to have a Son. After having lost His first Son, Adam, to the evil one God set His face to winning His race back. He had already determined He would have to.

Remember we said God has had a goal with a divine plan to fulfill that goal in Himself.

God has never taken His eye off the goal. For all things that have happened have happened in the cause of His own Being. What I'm saying is nothing has ever happened, or ever will happen because God has failed to accomplish His will or plan for us; being a Father to as many as receive Him.

It was His purpose from the beginning and it is still His purpose now.

That purpose of God has never changed nor been thwarted.

EPHESIANS 3:11
(KJV)
According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord...
(TLB)
in just the way he had always planned it through Jesus Christ our Lord...
(Cressman)
this is what God has always planned to do and He did it in Christ Jesus our Lord...
(The Message)
All this is proceeding along lines planned all along by God and then executed in Christ Jesus...

What God had first determined to do, then did; He brought into actual existence In Christ. We should be able to see there is an intended Goal, with a set plan, which is culminated in the actual realization of both plan and Goal, as God had initially determined it to be, In Christ. He has made a place for us, in Him through Christ, which was His original Goal.

As there is an order in creation, so too, there is an order in revelation received from God. We have seen earlier God had a goal, a plan to achieve His goal, and as in all things, there is a particular order in which these must be fulfilled. That is the way this plan, or any plan, if it is to be successful, must be carried out. Therefore, the goal will be and is achieved in total harmonic perfection.

When you learned to read and write as a kid you did not learn how to write in cursive first and then print. You couldn't learn to read without first learning the ABC's, right? There is an order to any learning process. You learn the ABC's, then learn to print, and then learn to read and to write.

There is a specific order of instruction God has given to us, as we have been able to receive it. This order I like to refer to as "Progressive Revelation", which speaks of a certain systematic way of presentation, so full complete learning, (absorption and assimilation) of a thing or things, can take place. Remember we are talking about growth, a step-by-step way to produce the best results possible.

Imagine math without division, I know some of us would have preferred it that way, but really all parts make up the whole and if one part is left out then the whole is deformed, incomplete. You cannot grow anything out of sequence, first the seed, then the growth, then the tree, then the fruit.

God in his ultimate wisdom and instruction has laid before us a certain order; a systematic step-by-step process of divine revelation.
