What is God's ultimate goal? For us? For Him? For His Son? We have to look back to the beginning to grasp this whole divine plan. It's like walking in on a movie and it's already started. What did we miss? What happened before we got here? Without this knowledge we might think the movie is a "Love" story, when in actuality it's a movie about "War". We need to have a bit of insight into God's ultimate goal and plan for Himself, for us, and for His only Son. So we should go back and see the beginning of the movie to get the real picture. Right? If God didn't want to redeem us and put us back into fellowship with Himself, then it only goes without saying, He wouldn't have sent His only begotten Son to die for us, would He? But as the scripture says: JOHN 3:16
(KJV)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(TLB)
For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
(The Message)
This is how much God loved the world: He gave His Son, one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in Him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life..
This is, if not the most, one of the most popular scriptures of all time, isn't it? But what I would ask of you is have we really seen it in the light of the whole framework of God's plan? We see this one scripture verse contains: 1) GOD'S GOAL: ULTIMATELY,
2) GOD'S PLAN: FOR ACHIEVING HIS GOAL 3) GOD'S REASON: FOR HIS GOAL HIS GOAL, is that no one perish, but all would live, have his life Yes, that's right, "God IS Love" and in everything He has or ever will do for us is strictly first and foremost out of LOVE. The LOVE He has for His creation and especially the LOVE He has for us is of the rarest kind. It can only be experienced in and through Him. It is not of human origin. It is so amazing that God planned He would be able to communicate it in such a way as for us to receive it! We will exist throughout all eternity in an everlasting "awe" of His never-ending LOVE. Gods' purpose was and always has beento create a being much like Himself to build a relationship with them to start a family and to be a father of that family. His great love perpetuated that fact He needed to have someone to share His love with. What we also see when looking closer is His goal is accomplished within Himself.1 JOHN 4:9
(KJV)
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
(Phillips)
To us, the greatest demonstration of God's love for us has been his sending his only Son into the world to give us life through him.
(Norlie)
God has shown His love to us especially in this, that He sent His only-begotten Son into the world so that we might have life through Him..
(MBV)
As for us, the love of God was revealed by the fact that God sent His only Son into the world, that through Him we might live..
It was His original intention, His ultimate goal, as a father, before the world began, that He would have many sons through the one Son. |
