JAMES 1:25
(KJV)
But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
(Parker)
But whoever looks in the mirror revealing the righteous law of God and keeps on looking therein, and does not forget what he sees, but obeys, then that man will be greatly blessed in all that he does
(WYMTH)
But he who looks closely in to the perfect Law—the Law of freedom—and continues looking, he, being not a hearer who forgets, but an obedient doer, will as the result of his obedience be blessed
(Hayman)
But whoso fixes his gaze upon the perfect law, the law of free obedience, and dwells on what he sees, not as a forgetful hearer, but as a doer of what it bids him do, this man shall be blessed by his doing
I really like that. "Whoso fixes his gaze upon the perfect law, the law of free obedience, and dwells on what he sees." "Dwells on what he sees". Think about it. Man, as man, focused totally and steadfastly on God in his inner man, ever waiting, ever listening to the Father speak. The man who is planted beside the still waters, his soul is not amplified by the amount of information contained in it, but no, this man is at rest. He is at perfect peace with himself and his God because he knows, and is sure, that when he hears God speak to him then upon the action of his own being with that Word he, the man, will be blessed in everything he does. God walks and talks with that man in His Garden, in "The Garden of God", where all is quiet, all is at rest and there resides tranquility such as few have experienced. There resides a confidence in the Father that believes beyond a shadow of a doubt that when he hears His Father speak, His Father will provide the power it takes to perform the Word spoken.
No more condemnation in trying to do what you think is right. No more feeding the mind with knowledge and having no power to live out what you've been putting in there. It is the perfect outflow of an established relationship; the man knows his Lord's voice and the voice of his head he will not follow. He knows the voice of God in his heart and he has fixed his gaze ever within, looking for that perfect Word which carries with it all that one could ever hope or desire. The flow of God through a man's own being. Entirely captivated by the Fathers presence, ever listening, ever at peace, with himself and his maker. That, my Friends, is Soul Salvation. Everything you do is direct communication from the throne, no doubt, no guessing, a sure confidence that you have heard from God and not your head. Your head doesn't have the power your heart does in union with the Master. You form a single spirit (I Corinthians 6:17). It is this union that breeds a relationship blossoming into a full blown glory trail on this earth, ever continuing in the Promised Land, flowing with Milk and Honey. No more doubt, no lack of confidence, no lack of power. Your mind is renewed, focused on the Father, your soul not full of knowledge "about" Him, but rather having formed an intimate union with Him. You see, there is a difference between head knowledge and mind renewal, they are not the same thing. Mind renewal is not having a soul full of the Word. Let me say that again: Mind renewal is not having a soul full of the word. Do you see the difference? Mind renewal is putting on the new man, flowing from the spirit, with express obedience to God. Soul salvation is having a heart full of the Word which was spoken by God and easily obeyed through that soul. Mind renewal is letting God flow through our complete person. Spirit then Soul then Body. The more with the flow we go, the cleaner the bottom of the stream gets. The more we fill the stream or try to walk upstream the farther we get from true mind renewal. Mind renewal is not having a head full of the Word. Anyone can fill their head with the Bible, that doesn't mean they are saved, that doesn't mean God talks to them, and that doesn't mean they know who God is. Consider the Jewish people, they know the Word in their mind, they still aren't saved. Why? They haven't heard it with their heart, yet. It hasn't been mixed with the belief that comes directly and only from your heart. It is the Word mixed with faith that is able to save the soul (Hebrews 4:2). Their soul is so full of the Word they can't hear God speaking through their spirit to their heart. That's what I said:
KNOWING THE WORD IN YOUR MIND IS NOT KNOWING GOD IN YOUR HEART
