2 CORINTHIANS 3:17,18
(KJV)
17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
(TLB)
But we Christians have no veil over our faces; we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him.
(Way)
All of us, with face unveiled, gazing on the mirrored glory of our Lord, are hourly being transformed into the same likeness, from a mere reflected glory into an inherent glory, as may well be, since it proceeds from the Lord, the Spirit.
(Cressman)
All of us have no cloth over our faces. People can see that we have some of he bright and wonderful light the Lord has. And we are becoming brighter and brighter, more and more like Him. It is the Lord, the Spirit, who does this
(Stevens)
And as we Christians thus attentively look with unclouded vision upon the reflection of the divine glory which is revealed in the Gospel of Christ, we are changed more and more into the likeness of the perfect ideal upon which we look, through the operation upon us of the transforming power of Christ, the giver of spiritual life
(Johnson)
With the veil lifted from our eyes we see the ultimate purpose of God reflected in Christ, and as we keep this vision before us we are continually transformed by it. We move from one area of fulfillment to another as the Spirit acts upon us
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. Read that last translation again, please. O.K., now read it over again, only this time, a little slower. What a tremendous translation that is. Anybody hear from God on that one? Man, I don't know what to say after that. I couldn't dream of saying anything better than that when it comes to total mind renewal. That is it, nothing more. God does it through the avenue of the Spirit. He breathe speaks to our hearts and our souls are transformed by that very breath, the glory of God, in the face of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God speaks and we are transformed. Not conformed by what is in our minds, rather transformed by the power of God speaking to our spirit. We allow that to happen by continually keeping this vision before us, we are changed through the process of identification with it. Where your treasure is that is where your heart will be also. If your treasure is the truth, then your heart will receive the truth. Allow that truth to transform your soul by speaking it out and acting on it. God breathed, God inspired, ever listening to the Father God and so renewing that part of us that would reflect Him to the world, lights shining out in the middle of this darkness. Can I get an Amen? Allow the Spirit of God to work in you and through you, there is no greater life to live than one that is from the inside out. The spirit moves within us and we are spontaneous echoes of His ever loving Language, speaking out in perfect harmony, a symphony composed in the heart of man, for the entire world to hear through the soul of man. We see the ultimate purpose of God In Christ. My Brethren, God has a goal. A plan. He actually had one before He did anything for us. He thought the whole thing through. His goal and His plan are perfect in their working and when we see this we get into its flow and that is where the life changing, soul salvation, mind renewing power of God plays upon our hearts and minds. |
